We’re thankful for the growing numbers that are joining us for worship on Sundays through our live-streamed services. The main way people are doing this is through www.martinsmemorial.tv, although a growing number are joining with us through Facebook. (Remember you can now log on from 10.55am and 6.25pm.)
It has been noted in the press that as a nation we now have far more following church worship services online than used to go to church on a given Sunday. For this we’re thankful. For all who join with us from our church, from other churches, from no church, from different parts of the world, we’re thankful. Let’s continue to get the word out about our live streaming and encourage others to join us. Let’s also keep praying God’s blessing and peace for all families in our community.
It has been said that every revival has had its own sound. This is in terms of psalms, hymns, and songs that have accompanied great moves of God. I believe the same can be said of times of crises and uncertainty.
On Sunday morning we’re going to reflect on this as I encourage us all to ‘Keep looking to Jesus!’
One of the great blessings of being in a relationship with God is the fact that He promises to be with us in whatever we go through. He will never leave us or forsake us. We are also greatly blessed in the knowledge that God is Alpha and Omega – the beginning and the end. None of us know what tomorrow might bring, but God does. As a wise person once said, ‘Why worry about tomorrow when God is already there?’ This beautiful truth and powerful sentiment are the main theme of an old hymn that I believe will become something of an anthem for us in this season. It’s an old hymn entitled ‘Because He lives!‘ Many of you will be familiar with it. Its words couldn’t be more suited to this time. The chorus states – ‘Because He lives, I can face tomorrow; Because He lives, all fear is gone; Because I know He holds the future; And life is worth the living, just because He lives!’
Let me encourage you to give a little time to sit in God’s presence and listen to this song, and that as you do, God Himself will bless the truth of who He is through it. Then because we know He lives, we will know His blessing on us, and His peace in us.
